Hello Mr. Haymore,
Below is the message I have written to the Bible club. Thank you Mr. Haymore for allowing me to share insight to the bible club members.
Best,
Alfonso Lua
Fellow Bible Club members,
I reflected multiple times about the mesage I would give to this years bible club. Although, there are many things I can say about the wonderful experiences I had as a bible club member and the great relationships I built over my high school career, there is one thing I enjoyed from this club, which stands out from all the other clubs, is the passion and committment to instill the core values and motivation to accomplish and do more than one is capable. For this I would like to offer some advise i been given by my mentors, friends, and family. The first offering is to know what you want? What is your purpose? The best way of knowing who you are is by doing things out of comfort zone. If you are afraid of heights, climb a mountain, afriad of swimming, go to the beach, afraid of public speaking, run for a student body position. The best way to grow as a person is to find your vulnerablilites and make them your strengths. Secondly, work on your gifts. If you love making music, continue composing, if you love art, continue drawing, if you like building web applications, continue coding, the purpose is to improve on your gifts. Thirdly, no excuses? It truly is that simple. The less excuses the better, the more excuses you make the more problems you accumulate. The fourth thing is to read, read, read. You will be surprise to find out how many people do not read. Books were written by individuals who, often, have experienced something that taught them a lesson. Chances are if you read books you might find answers to your questions. Lastly, and I will say the most important one, is continue with your education, the great equalizer. There is a saying out there, When your educated you cannot become uneducated. It is the greatest tool to create change. Find your purpose and I encourage you all to challenge yourself everyday to be better and to do the right thing. Ill leave you with a poem that a dear friend once told me;
"Speed propels the mentality of life
Atitude controls it
Momemtum maintains it
Patience protects it
Leadership guides it
Intelligience unleashes it"
Cheers,
Alfonso Lua
